We have 2 kilns that we use for our hire service.

680 litres kiln:

It has 4 rectangular shelves on each level and we have around 28 shelves to a full kiln. Each shelf is 28cm x 43cm and takes 3 cylindrical props.

Price: £10 plus vat for 1 shelf, £75 plus vat for half a kiln and £150 plus vat for a full kiln

Bisque on a normal speed ramp to 1000c

Glaze on a fast firing slowed down at last 100c to 1225c.

Differences in temps in kiln means it's between a cone 6-7.

115 litres kiln:

It has 1 round shelf on each level and we have around 4-5 shelves to a full kiln. Each shelf is 42cm wide and takes 3 cylindrical props.

Price: £15 plus vat for 1 shelf, £50 plus vat for a full kiln

Please note:

We need a small sample of your typical pot for a bisque and glaze fire. There is no cost for this as we need to make sure your glazes are suitable for our firings. Once we have established that they're compatible, you bring your pots ready to bisque in a box labelled with your name and contact details when they are COMPLETELY BONE DRY (we have no room for drying your pots for you so any pots not dry will be returned as is). We will load them in our next firings and send an invoice for payment. You can drop off and collect any weeknight Mon to Fri 6-9pm or weekends 10am to 4pm. Other times by appointment. You must let us know when you're coming just in case we aren't there for whatever reason (doing festivals over Summer or on holiday). We usually have at least one of the kilns on regularly every week. Glazes must be suitable for a cone 6 firing. 1225c.We are happy to advise if you are new to glazing on which ones will suit our firing. If you need to fire at a different temp we can do this providing you hire the full kiln. Please make sure your pots are initialled with either a stamp,red iron oxide or similar. Any pots not picked up after a week of letting you know they're ready will be disposed of. We do not take responsibility for anything that happens during the firing. Please make sure you use the right clay/glazes attach joins properly/ pack your pots properly etc. Thick pots and larger work will need to be fired slower and will incur extra charges. We can discuss beforehand.
