My pottery journey started with a throwing taster at Muddy Fingers back in 2023. I loved it so much I was back for a 6 week course and then became a regular student in 2025.
I enjoy a mix of throwing and hand building, mostly making functional pieces such as mugs, lidded pots, vases and some more unusual pieces like matchboxes.
I gravitate towards a neutral and pastel colour palette and often use wax resist and sgrafitto techniques to reveal the speckles in the clay I work with. I like playing with abstract floral shapes, as well as sketchy lines and doodles made with underglaze pencils.
I’ve been enjoying replacing boring mass-produced items around my home with fun pieces I’ve made and have since started to sell pieces at local markets and shops.
You can find my pieces at Flaura Rose in Ouseburn and Culture House Sunderland.
